Buenos Aires Pilar & Luján

Pilar is located 58km north of the city of Buenos Aires. It is considered by many as Argentina’s polo capital, with two hundred polo fields and fourteen of the world’s greatest polo players to its name.

Useful info

Set in the River Luján basin, Pilar is an expanse of fertile green land and streams. It is home to a number of multinational companies and is also where the majority of Buenos Aires’ gated communities are located. Its comprehensive hotel facilities make it a popular destination for congresses, conventions and business functions.

Luján, Argentina’s religious capital, is located 70km north of Buenos Aires. Thousands of people take part in the two pilgrimages to Lujan’s magnificent Gothic cathedral every year. Around Luján, there are numerous country clubs, estancias, golf courses and polo fields, as well as colonial towns with restaurants serving delicious local food.
